The former swimming coach was jailed for life for the murders of his wife Esther and 18-month-old foster daughter Jessica,
Double killer Frank McCann has asked to be moved back to the jail he once “couldn’t get away from quick enough”.
The former swimming coach, who was jailed for life for the murders of his wife Esther and 18-month-old foster daughter Jessica, is currently in the Progression Unit at Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison after being moved there in June 2021 after barricading himself into his cell at Arbour Hill Prison. It’s believed he was unhappy about his parole application being discussed on RTE’s Liveline which led other inmates to throw verbal taunts at him. Now, despite the jails only being 3km apart, evil McCann wants to return to Arbour Hill which has been described by a source as being like a quiet nursing home. A source told the Irish Sunday Mirror how McCann appears to realise how cushy he had it before “throwing his toys out of the pram”.
The source said: “Arbour Hill Prison is as quiet as you can get when it comes to a prison in Ireland. There is rarely ever any trouble.“It’s understood he believed it would go against any chance he had of getting released.“It was an odd move as at the time he had a very cushy number and was even given a trusted job cleaning the staff area and maintaining the surrounding grounds of the prison.
