Met Eireann have issued a double weather warning, the first of which has come into effect this morning and will remain in place until 12pm.They come as the national forecaster predicted unsettled and wintry conditions for the next few days.The first warning is a Status Yellow wind warning which has been issued for Clare, Cork, Kerry and Galway.
A Met Eireann forecaster warned: "Strong west to southwest winds on Wednesday morning with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h, especially near the coast."The warning on the website reads: "Becoming very windy on Wednesday evening and night with heavy rain. Possible spot flooding. Strong westerly winds with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h."
It looks like conditions will remain grim for the remainder of the week as Met Eireann have shared their forecast for the next while. It's set to be windy and showery with very strong gusts along Atlantic coasts this morning. Showers will merge into some longer spells of rain. Isolated thunderstorms and hail are likely.
Many areas, away from the north and southwest, will have a dry spell in the afternoon. Later, rain will extend from the southwest to all areas but the north.It will remain unsettled for the week, with Met Eireann writing: "Windy and cold with a wind chill factor. Spells of rain will be followed later by wintry showers."Read more:
