More than 30 people walked across the Lambertville-New Hope Free Bridge to show support for the people of Ukraine.

“They are very scared and they feel support from the U.S. and Europe, but it’s still very hard,” Ratz said. “It’s like unbelievable. It’s the twenty-first century.”“We are free, and we want to live in our country and we are a very peaceful country,” Ratz said. “We never had a fight with other country, and the U.S. understands us and they help a lot. It’s my fatherland, so I am collecting a lot of stuff to send to Ukraine right now.
“The Russian people, they understand everything that is going on, and I know they had a lot of propaganda, but they travel a lot, they have the internet, they know how the Ukrainian people are,” Ratz said of the lack of widespread protests in Russia against the invasion. “If Russian people come into our country, we accept them in our country. It’s normal. We don’t just kill some Russian people because they came to Ukraine.
