Drew Barrymore took a nasty tumble off her chair while filming an episode of her talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, with the CBS Morning Show cast on Tuesday.
While shooting in front of a lively crowd in New York City, alongside Gayle King and Ross Mathews, the actress, 49, fell from her seat, leaving the audience shocked as they looked on in horror.
Barrymore, who started working at just eleven months old, proved she was a seasoned pro in front of the camera as she smiled to signify to viewers that she was fine. Since then, she has consistently maintained top-tier status throughout her career, delivering numerous box office hits. It is unclear what caused the mother-of-two, who was wearing a chic tailored suit and a pair of towering platform heels, to slide off the chair
'When I look at it now, I don't see sadness or tragedy. I love that I was a walking cautionary tale,' the actress said. At one point, Barrymore proudly held up a white 'I love NY' shirt toward the audience before going on to wave at the crowd that formed to watch her tape the unusual episode of her talk show
Barrymore also pointed out that nobody in the world has never not gone 'through a low point or a bad thing or had to learn a hard lesson or was embarrassed.' 'I was very stubborn and rebellious, so I not only didn't listen to advice, whatever advice I got, I just basically did the opposite,' she mused.'I really parented myself, so I am not mad at my mom or dad. I was more disappointed in my own parenting,' Barrymore noted. 'I think kids really need to feel safe.'
Still, she acknowledged that the business has given her 'every opportunity under the sun' and she 'couldn't appreciate' her life more.
