Bethlehem police were called for a hit-and-run crash and found a portion of the concrete railing along the span gone.
A driver crashed early Monday morning into a busy Bethlehem bridge and then fled, city police said.
The crash was reported at about 3:30 a.m. on the Broad Street bridge near First Avenue. Police were called for a hit-and-run crash and found a portion of the concrete railing along the span gone. The vehicle and driver were eventually located by police, who said they are not aware if the driver reported any injuries.The damaged portion of the railing was marked with yellow caution tape and blue wood road barriers Monday afternoon, with pieces of the stone railing and column supports scattered on an incline along Conestoga Street below the bridge.Sarah Cassi may be reached at
