DRIVERS are being warned that a major police force has lowered its threshold for speeding. The reduction has led to thousands more motorists being prosecuted for speeding offences, with a 259% incr…

However, the Met's threshold is now set at 10% plus 2mph, meaning drivers will be prosecuted at 24mph in a 20 zone and 35mph in a 30 zone.The change amounts to just 1mph, but has seen a dramatic change in the number of prosecutions.
