Local authorities across England have the power to fine motorists for the irritating offence
UK motorists are now facing fresh £70 penalties for problematic parking, such as blocking driveways or obstructing cycle lanes.
Darren Miller, from BigWantsYourCar.com, said: "The UK government has proposed changes to how local councils manage revenue from certain moving traffic violations, like driving in bus lanes or box junctions. Sheffield Council has warned that drivers who block private driveways can also expect the fine. This move comes after South Yorkshire's leading authority engaged in consultation, discovering that nearly three-quarters of respondents noted cars impeding pedestrians access or parking on driveways.
