A Scots dad suffered a brain injury after crashing a quad bike on wasteland while high on drugs
Dale McVicar took a young child with him on New Year’s Day when he went out to ride the bike.
McVicar, 42, spent several months in hospital recovering from a head injury and had no memory of the accident, the court was told. McVicar appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday and pled guilty to a drug driving charge. He admitted having 193mg of benzoylecgonine per litre of blood in his system when the legal limit is 50mg.The sheriff told him: “The drug reading was large. You caused injury to yourself and could have caused injury to the child.”
Mr McCrossan said other people “became concerned that they had been away for a period of time and went to look for the accused”.
