Darren Hutchsion drove his car into a roundabout in Bishopton and, when cops found him, he had a knife.
A drugged-up driver who had stopped his car in the middle of a Bishopton roundabout was caught red-handed by an off-duty cop who was out jogging.
Procurator fiscal depute Joanne Gilmour told Paisley Sheriff Court the off-duty cop was out for a jog in Bishopton on Sunday, June 27, 2021 when a Peugeot 207 caught her attention. The dedicated team of experienced journalists, responsible for the publication of the award-winning Express, will focus on breaking news, day and night, across Renfrewshire’s towns and villages.
The court then heard how Hutchsion had ran to a nearby field in a desperate bid to flee, however, he was followed by the off-duty cop who waited with him until police officers attended. “Further checks revealed the Peugeot also had no insurance. Hutchsion was taken to Clydebank police station where he refused a medical examination and when being searched, officers found a 20cm long black knife in the waistband of his pants with an eight-inch blade. He made no reply to caution and charge.”
