Over 150 Gardaí, supported by armed units and public order units, searched 39 properties in Dublin targeting organized crime gangs involved in burglaries and drug dealing. The operation, pre-planned but aimed to catch the targets by surprise, involved several Garda units including the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

A large-scale Garda operation was under way on Tuesday in parts of north Dublin as up to 200 gardaí carried out 39 searches targeting crime gangs involved in organised burglaries and other crimes, including drug dealing. Some of those targeted are suspected prolific burglars who travel to the regions to execute well-organised burglaries that often feature a degree of surveillance in the build-up.
