Gardaí and Customs officials have seized cannabis worth an estimated €3,680,000 in counties Wexford and Dublin.
Gardaí have seized almost €4m worth of drugs and a firearm in separate operations targeting organised crime in Dublin and Wexford.Gardaí investigating an ongoing feud between criminal gangs in west Dublin seized a sawn-off shotgun and over €117,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis during a search of wasteland in Blanchardstown.A teenager has been arrested and can be questioned for up to three days.
It is the third significant drug seizure by gardaí targeting organised crime groups in the past two days bringing the total amount of drugs seized to almost €4m. The Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau along with Revenue Commissioners seized two separate consignments of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €3.7m in Wexford and Dublin.
A man in his 60s was arrested following the first search where 139kgs of cannabis herb was seized. He is being held for questioning at a garda station in the southeast region. A man in his 50s was arrested following the second search where 45kgs of cannabis herb was seized. He is being questioned at a garda station in west Dublin.
