Gardaí in Donegal were shocked to discover a drunk driver was eight times over the legal limit yesterday. The driver was stopped by the Letterkenny Roads Policing unit while on patrol after they suspected the motorist was driving under the influence of alcohol. During the stop, gardaí also discovered the driver had been disqualified from driving and the car was uninsured. The driver was processed at the local Garda station, where further tests confirmed he was eight times over the legal blood-alcohol limit.
Gardaí in Donegal were shocked after discovering a drunk-driver was EIGHT times over the legal limit yesterday.
However, when his details were checked, gardaí also discovered the driver had been disqualified from driving. The car was seized as it was not insured. A Garda spokesperson added: “A further test conducted back at the station established that the driver was eight times over the legal limit. Court proceedings will follow,” a Garda spokesperson said.
