If you like the stylish DS 3 but want an electric car, the new DS3 E-Tense is for you. With a 154bhp electric motor and a range of 250 miles between charges, it sounds good but is it enough to beat the Kia Niro EV? Our verdict is in -
People concerned about their carbon footprint like to buy things as locally sourced as possible, so they’ll be pleased to know that the larger battery pack and more powerful electric motor for the DS 3 E-Tense are all made in Trémery, France, rather than being shipped in from suppliers around the world.
It’s ironic also that the factory was once described as the world’s largest diesel engine factory ., and just like that car, there are several trim levels to choose from. In the case of the E-Tense, though, there’s only one electric motor and battery combination. Only the really observant will notice that the badge on the bonnet is different; the rest of the exterior is pretty much unchanged over the regular DS 3 Crossback – aside from the absence of an exhaust pipe, of course.
