Stephen Doyle, 36, of Ladyswell Square appeared in court charged with the robbery of €167 worth of tablets from Hickey's pharmacy in Dublin 15 on Friday
A father of five has been accused of carrying out a raid with a meat cleaver and masked with a bag over his face as pensioners collected prescriptions from a pharmacy in Dublin.
Garda Sean Riordain objected to bail due to the seriousness of the incident. He told the court that he viewed CCTV from the scene showing a person with "a bag over his face and carrying a meat cleaver". The garda agreed with defence solicitor Jenny McGeever that her client denied the allegation throughout five interviews, and the person on the video evidence had their face covered.
