A four-member Dublin family syndicate has won €1 million in the Lotto Jackpot Draw, but despite their newfound wealth, they plan to remain humble and continue shopping at budget retailer Penney's.
A Dublin family Lotto syndicate were among some of the big winners to collect their prizes at Lotto HQ, but the head of the group says they’ll “still be shopping in Penney’s”.
The head of the Dublin syndicate, who purchased the winning ticket at Spar in The Square Shopping Centre, Tallaght, recalled the unforgettable moment he discovered their win. “Any headache I had from the weekend soon disappeared when I got the news that we’d won €1 million!” he laughed. The head of the syndicate admitted he hadn't stopped trembling since discovering their win.
Also claiming a significant prize was a syndicate from Cork, who took home €262,554 after winning in the EuroMillions on Tuesday, September 3. The group, consisting of four friends, has been playing together for two and a half years and will each receive €65,638.
