Five units of Dublin Fire Brigade are currently battling a gorse wildfire near the Dublin Mountains .
The Woodside Road is closed while emergency crew tackle the large blaze, with videos shared on social media showing thick smoke covering the area.READ MORE: Lanzarote issues rare 'black alert', with Irish tourists warned about travel to holiday hotspot In a statement shared on social media, the DFB said: "Five fire engines including a water tanker are at a gorse wildfire near Sandyford. The Woodside Road is closed. A strong wind is driving smoke across a wide area."
"We are currently fighting the fire. Currently, 4 Water Tenders 2 Water Tankers 2 District Officers are on scene. If you are affected by the smoke, please close your windows. We are also protecting properties affected by the fire.The DFB added: "Smoke is still heavy in the area. Firefighters are working to protect properties in the vicinity."
