Dublin Ladies Football Team appoints Paul Casey and Derek Murray as joint managers following the departure of Mick Bohan.

Dublin have opted for continuity as Paul Casey and Derek Murray are set to be appointed joint-managers of the ladies football team. It follows the decision of long-serving boss Mick Bohan to step down after a glorious spell in which he delivered five All-Ireland titles, including four-in-a-row from 2017-20.

Casey had been part of Bohan’s management team as defensive coach since 2018, while Murray came on board four years later and was credited with playing a key role as Dublin returned to the summit in 2023, beating Kerry in the All-Ireland final. Lucan Sarsfields man Casey had an 11-season career with Dublin and he was part of the squad that won the breakthrough All-Ireland in 2011 as well as eight Leinster titles. Murray, of Round Tower Clondalkin, was also part of the Dublin senior panel during Paul Caffrey’s time in charge, winning three Leinster titles, while he also won an All-Ireland under-21 title in 2003. The pair will be ratified at a county board meeting tonight, with the rest of the management team to be confirmed at a later stage. Just last week, Dublin player Lauren Magee stated that she had a preference for staying inside the county in terms of the next management set up, while she said that the upheaval around Bohan’s departure should serve as an incentive for some of the team’s longer-serving players to stay o
