A Dublin player who won over €1 million in a special Lotto draw last month revealed they initially thought their winning ticket was worth just €500. The player won the life-changing prize in a special Lotto Plus raffle draw on December 21st.

A Dublin punter who bagged over €1 million in a special one-off Lotto draw last month has revealed that they initially believed their winning ticket was worth just €500.

Each of the tickets with the winning Lotto Plus Raffle number drawn in the December 21 draw was entered into a one-off random draw, where one ticket was selected to win an additional prize of €1 million. “When I got the call from the National Lottery, I thought they were looking for the €500 back – I was in complete shock to find out I had won €1,000,000 on top of the €500," the Lotto winner recalled.Asked how they plan to use their winnings, the Dublin player added: “We have plenty to keep us busy with family holidays, weddings and newborns all on the way this year.
