It is not in the interest of Dublin’s traders to talk the safety of the city down, so why should they, unless it is true? When was the last time John walked down O’Connell Street, Talbot Street, Marlborough Street, or Henry Street, during the day, let alone at night? I do on a frequent basis and it is uncomfortable and often menacing. But perhaps, like a lot of people, John does not think that the north inner city is part of the city centre and therefore not to be worried about, but it is.

182kg of Cocaine and 4kg of Cannabis Seized in Mountmellick Drug BustA major drug bust in Mountmellick, Co Laois, saw Gardaí seize 182kg of cocaine and 4kg of cannabis, with an estimated street value of €14 million.
