Foxy Lounge, an Italian restaurant in Dublin, has responded after receiving a critical review in The Irish Times that compared their dishes to those that would make Tuscan grandmothers weep. The review, by Corinna Hardgrave, criticized the restaurant's menu descriptions as ostentatious and found fault with several dishes, including the oysters and quattro formaggi pizza.

A Dublin restaurant has hit back after a scathing review said it would have "Tuscan grandmothers crying into their floury aprons".

It continued: "As I scan the “Fine Dining” menu in the newly-minted Foxy Lounge restaurant, I’m slapped by the thud of a Joan Collins-grade shoulder pad: “Elegance in Shell”, “Carpaccio di Rossa Elegance”, “Venus Desire Pearls”, “Quattro Formaggi Elegance”, and a sprinkling of “Tuscan Essence” and “Verdant Elixirs”.

"The antipasti di Lusso promises a “luxury selection” of meats, cheese and grissini, or, more accurately, a lazy assembly of cliches on a wooden board. After learning of the review, Foxy Lounge restaurant director Eva Liang Tang said: "We are a new business, this kind of voice hurts us to be honest. We did our best to build this place and want to be the good restaurant and serve the local people, we do everything honestly.
