The cause is an important one for Sean as people in his life have struggled with eating disorders
A Dublin retiree has opened up about volunteering over Christmas with eating disorder charity Bodywhys.
“I don’t mind giving up my time over Christmas, it’s the right thing to do. It’s an honour and a privilege to be able to help people.”. Sean said he has to deal with some very challenging phone calls, but he has the skills to deal with them.“I pursued an expert-led eating disorder diploma course conducted by an experienced Bodywhys member of staff, where I learned the different aspects of all eating disorders and their extremely complex natures. It is a very specialised area of mental health.”
“Life experience helps with volunteering, because you’re able to understand people really well. You get to know what makes them tick.
