Browne’s Steakhouse on the main street of Blanchardstown, West Dublin never reopened after the fatal shooting that saw gunman Tristan Sherry and ultimately his victim Jason Hennessy Sr killed in a shocking incident on Christmas Eve 2023

The steakhouse restaurant where two men were killed on Christmas Eve has closed down and is now for let, it has emerged.

In an advertisement online, Baxter Real Estate showed off pictures of the exterior and interior of the former restaurant where Sherry blasted his way through the building with a submachine gun in front of terrified families enjoying a Christmas eve meal - and shot Hennessy Sr. The development comes as several men are now charged before the courts in relation to the alleged murder of Tristan Sherry. Gardai are also separately investigating the murder of Mr Hennessy Sr - who died in hospital days after the shooting incident.

Wayne Deegan, 26, accused initially of attacking Mr Sherry, violent disorder and producing a knife as a weapon, had been refused bail in January, and a hearing was told he claimed he acted in self-defence. In April, however, those charges were dropped after the Director of Public Prosecutions directed Detective Garda Sean Kelly to charge Mr Deegan with murder instead.
