A Dublin taxi driver who was recently convicted of raping two female passengers is also awaiting sentence for raping a seven-year-old girl over ten years ago.
The court heard Raymond Shorten knew the young girl’s family and first raped her just a few days after her mother died.He raped her on another occasion when she was also just seven or eight years old and he sexually assaulted her in his car that same year. He denied all wrongdoing and accused her of lying but was found guilty on all charges earlier this year.
