Animals in Dublin Zoo are doing fine during Ireland's cold snap and have adapted to the cold weather the country is experiencing, the zoo’s director has said.
"The most important thing is them having access to warm indoor habitats and so an hour or two outside is the maximum they should have. Dr Schwitzer added that it was good for them to have outside access, as that is what they are used to and they need exercise during the day both for their mental and physical health.
Animals adapt quickly but they are used to Ireland's temperature, he said, where it is not too hot or too cold, but they are not in distress at the moment.
