A major road in Dublin city centre will be closed across the weekend as as a result of this year’s Aer Lingus College Football Classic, which takes place at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday

Motosists in Dublin have been warned to brace for significant traffic disruptions around the city centre this weekend as the Aer Lingus College Football Classic returns to the capital.

The game will be broadcast live on the major US network, ESPN, and Dublin City Council have announced that as a prelude to the American College Football game, it will host ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, live from the streets of College Green, Dame Street. The event is family-friendly, free, non-ticketed and open to the public. As part of the College GameDay event experience on College Green, Dublin City Council will provide entertainment including traditional Irish musical performances, and dancing. In addition, the street will be dressed with College Football and GameDay branding and material to promote Dublin as the host city.

Bus services in the Temple Bar area on the Quays and Westmoreland Street will continue to operate, while the LUAS green line will continue to operate. The Taxi Ranks from Foster Place and College Green will be moved temporarily to D’Olier Street.
