ANAHEIM — The Ducks traded right wing Rickard Rakell to the Pittsburgh Penguins before the NHL’s deadline Monday, completing general manager Pat Verbeek’s flurry of moves in his first crack at remaking the roster since his hiring Feb. 3 to replace Bob Murray, who resigned Nov. 10.
In exchange for Rakell, the Ducks received center Zach Aston-Reese, a second-round selection in the July 7-8 entry draft and a prospect from the Penguins. Verbeek began shedding the Ducks’ potential unrestricted free agents March 7 by trading defenseman Josh Manson to the Colorado Avalanche. Saturday, he flipped defenseman Hampus Lindholm to the Boston Bruins and left wing Nicolas Deslauriers to the Minnesota Wild.Related Articles
