Former Dundee boss Jim Duffy warns that the SPFL may introduce new rules in the summer.

Jim Duffy insists that the SPFL can't dish out a mid-season points deduction to Dundee if he clash with Rangers is called off.

With a fifth postponement of the season on the cards, some pundits and fans have floated a potential punishment from the league should the clash with Rangers fail to beat the weather. But former Dundee boss Duffy played down the prospect at this stage of the season - but warned they might not get away with a series of call-offs next season.

"Normally it is before April, but it can be. If it’s January or February you can’t just say ‘we will take points off you’ - it could be freakish weather. You can’t just decide to thrown in a rule that takes points off you now. If at the start of the season maybe but it’s very difficult, how would you word it? Because there are mitigating circumstances.
