Consuming an allergen can be incredibly dangerous so the FSAI are advising those who bought the product in question to be aware of possibly 'unsafe' ingredients
The alert was issued by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland due to undeclared allergens.
Consumers are warned that ingredients that are not listed on the label could make it unsafe for certain people. "This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of wheat , soya and/or sulphites."The plant based roast is a popular option for vegans during the festive season so consumers are being urged to be aware of the presence of the specified allergens. Depending on the severity of the allergy, even a tiny amount of the allergy-causing food can trigger signs and symptoms such as digestive problems, hives or swollen airways. In some people, a food allergy can cause severe symptoms or even a life-threatening reaction known as anaphylaxis.Read more:
