Dunnes Stores is recalling batches of Beechwood Smoked and Tomato and Herb Wicklow cheddar cheese due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) advises consumers who have purchased from affected batches to not consume the products. Symptoms of Listeria infection can range from flu-like symptoms to more severe complications, especially for vulnerable groups like pregnant women, babies, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

Dunnes Stores has issued a recall for two popular Christmas cheese products over fears of Listeria contamination.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland released a statement saying: "Dunnes Stores is recalling the below batches of its Beechwood Smoked and Tomato and Herb Wicklow Cheddar due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes." According to the FSAI, "in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications.
