Rafael Van der Vaart believes Rice doesn't do enough to warrant his reputation.
Dutch legend Rafael Van der Vaart has slammed Declan Rice for being 'useless' in an extraordinary rant following the Euro 2024 final.
While by no means the only player to turn in an underwhelming performance in the final, Rice was singled out for criticism on Dutch TV by former Real Madrid star Van der Vaart, who questioned whether Rice was really worth the £100 million Arsenal spent on him last Summer. In response to McClean's remarks, Rice said: “Do you know what? I played with James for Ireland for three games and I got on with him really well.“When I left Ireland to come to England, I heard a few things he was obviously not happy about. He made comments a few years ago.
