Dwayne Johnson has recreated an iconic BlackAdam comic book cover in a new image for the upcoming DCEU movie.
Dwayne Johnson recreates and iconic Black Adam comic cover in new photo. The upcoming, hotly-anticipated DC Extended Universe movie marks the superhero debut of Johnson, who has been attached to play the titular anti-hero since 2014. Originally, the plan was for Johnson to appear as a villain in Shazam!, but his character was later spun off into a solo film.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY With a few weeks left until its release, the marketing campaign for Black Adam remains pretty solid. There is no doubt that Johnson's attachment to the movie will prove to be one of the key success factors, but even apart from that, the trailers for Black Adam, which critics described as action-packed sizzle reels, have left general audiences impressed. Recently, an epic aerial footage showed the teaser for Black Adam being screened from the rooftop of the L.A.
How Closely Will Black Adam Follow The Comics? By all means, the new image is a subtle nod to Black Adam's source material. At the moment, it's not clear how closely will Black Adam hearken to the comics. His backstory, brutality, and romance with Adrianna will all be seemingly honored in the new movie, although there appear to be some changes, such as Black Adam and Hawkman not remembering their association from 5,000 years ago in Kahndaq.
Given the massive restructuring the DCEU is undergoing at the moment, it's not practically convenient for Black Adam to fully adapt the comic book storylines. Yet, the writers and producers appear to have done their best to honor the source material, scattering references and Easter eggs to the larger DCEU across the film.
