State Pension, PIP, Universal Credit and other benefits due on August 28 will be paid early across the UK.
The last bank holiday of the summer falls on Monday for people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. However, it will also affect people in Scotland expecting payments from the Department for Work and Pensions or HM Revenue and Customs on that day.
The change to payments will only affect those due on Monday, August 28. This means people scheduled to receive State Pension, Universal Credit, Child Benefit, Personal Independence Payment , Attendance Allowance, Tax Credits and other benefit payments on that date will see the money land in their accounts on Friday, August 25.
The DWP said: “On Monday 28 August offices and phone lines are closed. To make sure people get their payment on a day when Jobcentre Plus offices are open, some payments will be paid early. To align with the bank holiday in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, DWP offices and phone lines in Scotland will also be closed on Monday, August 28.”
DWP benefits and payments affected If your benefit is not listed above, there will be no change to your payment date.
