DWP and HMRC payments to be made early this week due to Easter bank holidays

State Pension, Universal Credit, PIP, Child Benefit and other payments may arrive on Thursday for some people

Easter falls on Sunday, April 9, which means some State Pension and benefit payments due to be made on Good Friday or bank holiday Monday will land in accounts early this week. The Department for Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs have confirmed changes to upcoming payment dates to ensure people receive their money on a day when Jobcentre Plus offices and phone lines are open.

Payments delivered by DWP including State Pension, Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment and other benefits due to be made on Friday, April 7, or Monday, April 10, will be paid on Thursday, April 6, 2023. HMRC has also confirmed that Child Benefit payments due on Monday, April 10, will land in bank accounts on April 6.

DWP has confirmed that office and phone lines will be open as usual from Tuesday, April 11. Below is a full list of payments due to be made early, we are still waiting on confirmation from Social Security Scotland on any changes to delivery of devolved benefits including Adult and Child Disability Payment.
