PIP support available
The Department for Work and Pensions has released figures showing the number of people claiming Personal Independence Payments .
The benefit is paid every four weeks, amounting to between £107.60 and £691.00 every payment period, the Daily Record reports. Around 547 health conditions are supported by PIP, but the list is far from definitive and an 'unknown' category also exists.Figures from the DWP surrounding the benefit in particular, shows that there has been an increase in people claiming for Psychiatric Disorders.
At the end of April 2023, some 35% of claims made to PIP are in receipt of the highest level of award. This can also lead to additional support for housing costs, council tax, other benefits and reduced travel on public transport. If you need extra help because of an illness, mental health condition or disability that you may have, then you can apply for PIP.
