The Department for Work and Pensions will pay the extra cash to those who receive Personal Independence Payment in the run-up to Christmas
In the lead up to Christmas, over three million Brits who receive Personal Independence Payments are set to receive additional bonus payments. Come December, claimants will see an extra £10 in their bank accounts.
The payment typically reaches bank accounts just ahead of Christmas, benefiting recipients of PIP, Carer's Allowance, and Pension Credit among other qualifying benefits. However, standalone Universal Credit claimants are not eligible for the Christmas Bonus.While the bonus provides some assistance, its effectiveness has been questioned due to its modest sum and stagnant rate, unchanged even amidst soaring inflation, reports Birmingham Live.
"You do not need to claim - you should get paid automatically. You must also get at least one of the benefits in the 'qualifying week' - this is normally the first full week of December."
