New data has shown that thousands of people across Lancashire will receive the £301 cost of living payment.
Those on means-tested benefits like Universal Credit, Pension Credit, and older benefits such as Jobseekers Allowance and Income Support will benefit from the extra support. Across Lancashire, thousands of people will qualify for the payments, including more than 21,000 in Preston and 29,000 in Blackpool.The Department for Work and Pensions confirmed the first payment will land into banks automatically between April 25 and May 17.
The data shows that in Blackpool 29,000 people are eligible, while in Lancaster 17,100 will benefit from the money. In Blackburn with Darwen, more than 27,000 are ready for the money.
