The Department for Communities is assisting the Department for Work and Pensions with the consultation
The Department for Work and Pensions have launched a new public consultation with Stormont s Department for Communities on proposals to strengthen statutory sick pay.
Among the proposals are plans to remove the current three-day waiting period, removing the lower earnings limit of £123 per week, improving enforcement of SSP, Making SSP more flexible, and covering those earning below the Lower Earnings Limit. The ‘Making Work Pay: Strengthening Statutory Sick Pay’ consultation looks at the percentage replacement rate for those earning below the current rate of Statutory Sick Pay.
