More help is on the way
As the weather turns and thoughts of upcoming fuel bills and increased household bills play on householder's minds, government relief schemes becomes ever more important. As do the dates that certain payments will arrive in bank accounts.
Work and Pensions Secretary Chloe Smith said: "Millions of families will soon see a £324 cash boost as part of our extensive £1,200 support package, helping to raise incomes and manage the rising cost of living. We understand that people are struggling which is why and we’re committed to supporting the most vulnerable households.
November 8 to 23: £324 Cost of Living payment The government has confirmed that millions of households across the UK will get their second instalment of the £650 cost of living payment, worth £324, by November 23. The first payments are due to land from November 8. The Government adds that those on Tax Credits would receive their payment "Shortly after people on the low income DWP benefits have been paid".
If you are receiving Tax Credits and qualify for the cost of living payment, you will receive the payment later than everyone else . According to the DWP: "Payments from HMRC for those on tax credits only will follow shortly after each to avoid duplicate payments."
