Legendary pundit Eamon Dunphy praises new Liverpool manager Arne Slot for his remarkable success in the post-Klopp era.

Legendary pundit and Irish Daily Star columnist Eamon Dunphy has outlined what he believes is the most impressive aspect of Liverpool’s incredible season so far. In their first term in the post-Jurgen Klopp era, the Reds have stormed to the top of the Premier League table, and have won six out of six so far in the Champions League, including a 2-0 win over holders Real Madrid.

And that is no mean feat, considering the departure at the end of the last campaign of Jurgen Klopp, the most successful Anfield boss in decades. In a make-or-break summer, Liverpool chiefs had to walk a tightrope in their search for a new manager, with countless examples out there of boards struggling to replace a long-serving, trophy-winning boss. Rivals Manchester United’s woes since the departure of Alex Ferguson can serve as a lesson to all. However, in the appointment of little-known Dutchman Arne Slot, whose career both as a player and in management up to the summer had been limited to his home country, the Reds got it spot-on. And Dunphy paid tribute to the 46-year-old boss, writing in Monday’s Irish Daily Star: “Arne Slot might win the Premier League with Liverpool this year - but he has already achieved something very special. “Being the next man in after a legend is one of the toughest gigs in management. “Coming in as a relative unknown (let’s be honest, how many Liverpool fans had to google his name when he was first linked with the job?) is even harder. “So it is incredible to consider that Slot has actually improved the team from the Jurgen Klopp era. “Following on from Klopp was always going to be a tall order - just look at Manchester United’s struggles post-Alex Ferguson. “Yet he has done it without a fus
