Eamonn Holmes has confirmed that he is cutting ties with ITV's ThisMorning for a new role at GB News. Last month the Mirror exclusively revealed the star was making the move
The veteran reporter's departure was confirmed today by GB News after The Mirror exclusively revealed the star was making the move in November.
"To me the greatest honour in journalism is to give a voice and respect to the unheard, and that's exactly what GB News is all about." Last month an insider dished to the Mirror: "Eamonn’s move to GB News marks the end of an era. He’ll be missed by many ITV viewers but, the truth is, this job offer probably came at just the right moment for both him and ITV. All good things come to an end."
In December 2020, This Morning fans were shocked when it was announced that Eamonn and Ruth - who used to host every Friday - were being replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary. She is said to have issues a complaint after he 'rudely' interrupted her while she was presenting a preview of Loose Women during an episode of This Morning.
