Early Lightyear reactions praise the Pixar movie's first act, drawing comparisons to Up's gut-wrenching opening.
The first reactions to Pixar's Lightyear have officially arrived on social media. The film, which is part of the Toy Story universe, will focus on the fictional astronaut Buzz Lightyear, upon whom the toy played by Tim Allen in the original films is based. It will follow Buzz while training to go into space, where he must face off against the evil Emperor Zurg .
Disney also let us see basically the opening 30 minutes of the movie and right off the bat you realize it's not what you're expecting. Very emotional. Almost Up-esque. The new trailer skips all of that. Really excited to see the full film. #Lightyear — Charlie R-IG-11-Y April 21, 2022 Lightyear boasts a more realistic look than other films in Pixar's library, setting it apart from previous features. 4/
— Steve Seigh April 21, 2022 From what I’ve seen, #Lightyear will be a great deal of fun, and I’m already fascinated by the talking cat. Chris Evans does a great job voice the “human Buzz,” and the sneak peak hinted at a lot of great comedic action sequences. https://t.co/GzBYFGKWcc
