The applicant changed aspects of the plan including repositioning, roof alteration and a change of materials
A plan to build a social housing block comprising 46 apartments in Strandtown, East Belfast, has been approved after having been previously recommended for refusal by Belfast Council officials.

The western block has also been repositioned approximately two metres westwards.
The report states: “The change in roof design would reduce the visual impact and dominance of the development on neighbouring properties. The introduction of oriel windows on the nearside apartments closest to the north rear boundary would mitigate concerns relating to the loss of privacy to the rear gardens of the existing neighbours on Brandon Parade.”
There were no objections from any of the statutory consultees, and one letter of objection from a resident at Brandon Terrace. The objector cited concerns about height of the apartment development, loss of light and the proliferation of Japanese knotweed.
