EastEnders fans were left horrified this evening as Mick and Linda Carter appeared to drown in very 'Titanic-esque scenes.

The couple have been plagued with issues over Linda's drinking and even signed divorce papers to separate. Just as Mick thought that he had had enough after a drunken Linda accused him of having an affair with Whitney, he heard her voicemail on his phone and decided to try and find her. However tragedy struck as the boat began to sink - while Linda had her ankle trapped while she was in the boat's kitchen.However the pair were unable to get her out as the freezing cold Thames water began to rise around them.Mick tried to calm her down before she insisted that he "had to go".However Mick passionately replied: "Do you think I'd ever leave you? I love you. If this boat goes down, I'm going down with it.
