EastEnders fans left baffled by 'major phone blunder' in explosive flashback episode
EastEnders viewers were left very confused after believing they had spotted a bizarre phone blunder during New Year's Day's explosive flashback episode - but there was an explanation. Viewers watched what really happened to Keanu Taylor on Christmas Day after being kidnapped by Martin Fowler.
In the end, Martin was unable to shoot Keanu and when Linda stumbled in, the pair helped fake his death. This included Linda shooting Keanu in the shoulder and Martin later filming himself on his phone pretending to shoot Keanu again.However Martin decided to give him his phone as Keanu wasn't able to keep his own. Yet viewers were baffled when Martin's phone reappeared in his hand when he showed Ben the video - or so they thought. What viewers may have forgotten is that Martin had two phones, with Ben handing him a second secret phone on Christmas Day so they could contact each other amid the planned murder of Keanu. This phone was white, and it was this device that Martin recorded Keanu's fake murder on before showing Ben. The phone that Martin still had on him, after giving Keanu his real phone when he fled, was Keanu's mobile which he chucked onto the fire because it was evidence - along with his passport and wallet. While viewers believed this was Martin's "missing" phone or the one he showed to Ben, it's clear from the differing colours that it was in fact the mobile Keanu had to leave behind. This didn't stop confused fans taking to Twitter though, with one fan commenting: "Who's phone did Martin video Keanu on? Because he gave his phone to Keanu? #Eastenders." While another commented: "How could Martin show Ben the footage if he gave his phone to Keanu? #EastEnders." A third remarked: "Funny how Martin gave Keane his phone then managed to show Ben a video #EastEnders."
