“Shoppers spent a mammoth €24.6 million on Easter Eggs, which was an additional €9.3 million versus last year. A mix of climate change, unsustainable farming methods, and unprecedented global demand pushed up prices this year and will keep them high into 2025, it is claimed. Irish inflation peaked at almost 10% year-on-year in the middle of 2022 and has fallen steadily over the last 12 months.
