Utilita has said it has suspended all warrant activity, while Shell Energy has suspended warrants until the end of winter. EDF has also now suspended the forced installation of the meters while it conducts a review of its processes to “reconfirm they are robust and see if we can make improvements”. Their decisions follow that of British Gas which announced on Thursday that it is suspending all prepayment warrant activity “at least until the end of winter”., with magistrates warning they have “no choice” but to grant them.he would crack down on “trigger happy” firms forcing struggling families on to the metersBut he fell short of imposing a winter moratorium, which MPs and campaign groups have been calling for since December.
