Edinburgh cops hunt feral youths who launched bricks and cut officer's lip during Bonfire Night chaos
Police in Edinburgh are hunting feral youths who launched bricks at a police van during chaotic scenes on Bonfire Night. An investigation has been launched after the incidents in the Niddrie area of Edinburgh, which led to one officer suffering a minor cut to their lip.
Police have now launched an investigation into the scenes on Saturday night as they look to find those responsible for the chaos which began just before 7pm, when approximately 100 youths threw fireworks at members of the public and vehicles at Marischal Road, Edinburgh. Chief Inspector Neil Wilson said : “The actions of those responsible could have had much more serious consequences and our investigation is under-way. Officers are carrying out door to door-to door enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage in an effort to identify those involved.
“I would also appeal to anyone with mobile phone footage of any of the incident to get in touch with Police Scotland as a matter of urgency on 101."
