Ramirez also said CPS Energy hired a new vice president and chief security officer, Jonathan Homer, who’s coming to the utility after leading incident response teams at the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, or CISA. One threat they’re especially concerned about is “redirect technology” in which hyperlinks on reputable websites — think news sites — take users to malicious websites that could lead to a breach. Ramirez said it’s an incredibly difficult threat to protect against.
