Elaine Crowley is overjoyed to welcome a new grandniece to her family – but says there will always be an “Ultan-shaped hole” in her heart.
“I have one other grandniece and two grandnephews who have all been born in the last year. Yes, it does make me feel ancient! .“It’s lovely news to share, isn’t it? My heart is bursting. I am so delighted. It has given everyone such a lift. The Ireland AM presenter, who lost her mum Mary to cancer in 2021, has had a tough few years and is still navigating the grieving process.
“Grief can feel like a hammer blow to your heart. None of us will ever be the same, there will always be a big chunk missing from our lives. “I’ve always been focused on the massive steps and the bigger picture, where I want to be in five years, what big house I want to live in or what car I want to drive. Those big things can be overwhelming and sometimes I get exhausted from it all.
