LA mayoral candidate Bass continued to distance herself from Caruso on Nov. 14 as more ballots were counted.
Los Angeles mayoral candidate Rep. Karen Bass continued to distance herself from developer Rick Caruso on Monday, Nov. 14, as a fresh batch of ballots processed by the county registrar’s office widened her lead again.
Overall, Bass has received 354,948 votes, or 52.15% of the votes counted so far. Caruso has received 325,677 votes, or 47.85% of the votes, according to the latest tally by the registrar’s office. “I am honored and grateful for the support we are seeing,” Bass had said in a statement Saturday. “Our campaign was people-powered by thousands of volunteers, sending a message that we are committed to solutions for homelessness, public safety and affordability in every neighborhood and for every community.”
Caruso is a billionaire businessman best-known for developing retail shopping centers like The Grove in the Fairfax district and The Americana at Brand in Glendale.
